Quote Coordinator

Job Title: Quote Coordinator
Reports To: VP Engineering & Technology
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Direct Reports: No

Position Summary:

Organizes and coordinates all new project quotes and proposals for injection molding and assembly projects.  Works with Sales, internal and external teams, and customers to gather technical and pricing information and compiles finished quotes and proposals to be delivered to customer.  Works to optimize pricing models and processes to ensure the process is robust and efficient and the proposals are timely and accurate.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work with Sales and Customer to gather all technical and manufacturing data and develop quote strategy.
  • Work with internal and external tooling groups to specify tooling and obtain tooling quotes.
  • Work with internal procurement team to specify and obtain quotes for raw materials, off the shelf components, and custom-made components.
  • Work with automation/equipment manufacturers to specify and obtain quotes for custom built fixtures, equipment, and automation that meets the production and quality requirements of our customers finished products.
  • Works with engineering team to develop cycle times and labor requirements for our customer’s products.
  • Works with production team to establish equipment capacities and capabilities to ensure our customer’s products are assigned to the ideal assets and equipment.
  • Works with engineering team and customer to drive Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) efforts to ensure we can meet customer requirements
  • Works with internal quality team and customer to determine validation/qualification requirements to quote

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Demonstrated experience in working with sales teams and directly with customer.
  • Experience and knowledge in the injection molding process
  • Experience and knowledge in injection mold tooling.
  • Understanding of manual and automated assembly techniques
  • Computer literate/proficient with Word and Excel software programs including spreadsheet creation.
  • Negotiation and problem-solving skills.
  • Good oral and written communication skills; ability to properly speak and write in the English language to analyze and interpret documents, write reports, and communicate with people.
  • Strong math aptitude working with concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of geometry and to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical construction situations required.
  • Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of practical construction related problems, and work with abstract and concrete variables.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and have good organizational skills.
  • Must be able to work independently and review routings for accurate costing and verification
  • Good attention to detail.

Education & Experience:

  • 3-10 years experience in an injection molding and assembly environment
  • Strong estimating/quoting experience
  • Experience in a regulated environment, preferably medical device (ISO 13485)
