Mold /Die Setter

Job Title: Mold / Die Setter
Reports To: Molding Operations Manager
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Direct Reports: No

Position Summary:

Works in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.  Operates forklift trucks and various types of injection molding machines. Priorities for mold setting is given by plant manager.  Frequently communicates status of mold set ups with supervisor and Molding Supervisor/Manager. Starts jobs using process sheet in job DMR.  Requires excellent problem-solving skills and works independently.  Knowledge of injection molding machines  and auxiliary equipment knowledge is also needed.   

Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Sets up and pulls molds.
  2. Follow mold tag procedures
  3. Works to schedule via priorities
  4. Sets up aux equipment i.e. die heaters, controllers, oil heaters.  Maintains equipment and department cleanliness
  5. Maintain safety in the work area, understands Lock out Tag out Procedures
  6. Other responsibilities may be assigned, based on department requirements.

  1. Proven ability/experience as die setter
  2. Mechanical ability, light maintenance
  3. Working knowledge of diverse high-speed machinery
  4. Understanding of production procedures
  5. Adherence to health and safety regulations (uses PPE as required)
  6. Ability to read SOP’s and work instructions, along with manuals
  7. Analytical skills
  8. Attention to detail
  9. Experience with ISO environment

Education/Experience:

A minimum of a High School diploma; (Or equivalent) technical degree is a plus. Experience as a die setter is also preferred.

 

Language Ability:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret in English. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

 

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems and interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
