Position Summary:

The Maintenance Technician III is responsible for an advanced level of troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, and occasional modification to all production equipment that primarily consists of injection molding machines and ancillary equipment.  Key responsibilities also include the maintenance, repair, and monitoring of all building infrastructure such as HVAC systems, air compressors, process cooling systems, facilities, grounds, etc.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshooting / Repair / PM’s of:
    • All production equipment including but not limited to injection molding machines, robotics, material handling, oil heaters, ovens, ultrasonic welders etc.
    • All Maintenance / Facilities related equipment and infrastructure such as HVAC equipment, air compressor systems, process cooling equipment, etc.
  • Maintain inventory of critical spare parts and supplies.
  • Work with vendors and suppliers as needed. Obtaining quotes and submitting purchase orders to Supervisor in order to obtain supplies needed to complete repairs/maintenance.
  • Other tasks, duties, and projects as assigned by the Facilities/Maintenance Manager.
  • Continuous Improvement/Safety:
    • Create effective inputs, measures, and KPI’s that can drive improvements.
    • Can develop/revise processes and procedures that will improve performance or save resources and time.
    • Can own and drive improvement projects to completion.
    • Provide technical assistance to production and engineering departments for machine, product, and quality improvements.
    • Maintain a clean, safe work area and participate in safety walkthroughs.

Skills & Requirements:

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and qualified in pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical, reading schematics, PLC’s, robotics, and servo controls.
  • Can follow procedures/work instructions and maintain good documentation practices.
  • Can effectively communicate both orally and written, in English.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Self-starter that can work independently but also work well with others. May supervise others.
  • Ability to lift 35+ pounds regularly. Prolonged standing and walking. Occasional bending, squatting, twisting, and reaching.
  • Occasional overtime. Routine attendance and professionalism.
  • Some travel required between sites.

 Education & Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent: (required)
  • Plastic Injection Molding: Minimum 5 years experience (required)
  • Maintenance / Facilities: Minimum 5 years experience (required)
